Day 12, June 25, 2008

We are home! We left St. George, UT and made it home by 2 pm. On the way home, Bill and I reflected on what we learned on our trip.
1) 2800 miles is a really long loop. Next time we go to Colorado, we will fly.
2) The red ink in the AAA book may mean that you are in the middle of nowhere. (according to Nolan)
3) Three diamonds in the AAA book are all relative. 3 diamonds in one place may look really different in another place.
4) There is no reason for Bill to go to Utah again.
5) Chives for baked potatoes do not exist in Arizona or Colorado.
6) They really like to put gravy on most meals. When they ask white or brown, they are inquiring about your gravy choice. Who knew?
7) Utah has the best rest stops. We have been to most on Interstate 15 and 70.
8) California is the only state that must require seat protectors in the bathroom. I swear they were nowhere else.
9) If the kids wear their head phones you can listen to the XM comedy channel.
10) Ferris Bueller's Day Off has some funny scenes I forgot about when I told the kids they could watch it. OOPS!
11) They only do roadwork in Colorado in June.
12) They will never finish working on the 15 in Vegas (3 summers of work so far!)
13) All Wal-Marts are the same. I am a "10" even with no make up on!
14) Fry sauce, available in Utah, is mayo mixed with catsup.
15) Somehow, I must scream I am from California!
16) You are in a bad place if the best restaurant they have is Denny's.
17) If you are standing on a corner in Winslow, AZ, get back in your car and drive another 15 minutes to a better area. There is no blond in the flat bed Ford.
18) There is NO good mexican food in the tri-state area!

I am sure I will think of more. Hope you enjoyed the giggles.

Sounds like you had a great time! I enjoyed your humorous tidbits on today's post. I hear Utah is BEAUTIFUL! I just want to take the "scrapbooking tour of Utah". All the manufactuers are from Utah so I bet there are lots of good stores to see! LOL.
